Default How to disconnect speedometer cable

Need some help. I'm trying to replace a turn signal bulb in the dash of my 78 Corvette. I've taken out the speedometer cover, inside bezel, and now the left hand air conditioning duct. I can reach the cable from underneath the dash but I'm not sure how to disconnect it. There is a press tab around the connection. I'm thinking I have to hold that tab down while pulling to disconnect. Or, do you have to twist the connection to remove. Any help would be greatly appreciated. All this to replace a bulb. Thank goodness I love the car way too much to get mad at it for very long. Thanks!

Just press the tab and the cable will pull right out. Takes no effort at all, other than the effort to get to the tab.

not sure if its the same as my 69, but disconnecting from teh distributer is about 100x easier then getting it from the tach housing.

Yup, just press the tab and pull it out. You'll get better at it the more you do it, like when the next bulb goes
I don't take the whole thing out to replace just a bulb tho. I reach in with a needle nose pliers and unplug the old, line up the new and plug back in.

That would be easier than going under the dash and doing that dance....
