My newly acquired 1976 C3 has a problem with the left front turn signal. The signal works fine until I turn on the parking or head lights. The left signal indicator on the dash comes on solid and I have no parking light or turn signal on the left front.
The same thing happens when the emergency flashers are on. To add to the mystery, the car has LED tsillights and the left rear turn inner signal doesn't flash or light when the lights are on.
Thanks Danny, I have been looking at the sockets but not closely. I'll really dig into them. I did get a wiring diagram from Papawana almost before I sent the request. Thanks to Papawana as well.
I agree with Danny its probably a ground problem. A quick way to check is to get a long piece of wire and strip both ends, ground 1 end to the alternator case and touch the other end to the brass part of the park/turn bulb and see if that fixes the problem. If it does you need to find out why the black wire going to the light is not grounded. Usually its the 3 wire connector that connects the socket to the harness.
