What is this magical tape that covers the intake/exhaust ports? I'd like to get some to cover the holes that will be on my block when I start the tear down.
It may be duct tape (if its got fibers in it). I wouldn't use it though, 'cause if its sitting on a surface for a while it can leave a lot of gummy residue. Get a low-tack vinyl tape at the hardware store (or a Home Depot or Lowe's). Also, what holes in the block do you mean? The water pump holes?
Autoglass shops use stuff like that to hold windows and moldings in place untill adhesives set up. Friend of mine owns a shop and uses it. Except his is blue. And its not duct tape.
It is not duct tape
it kinda has similar properties as electrical tape but " now sticky residue" sounds like a deoderant comercial
We use it on air craft all the time if we want to afix some sensors and lead wires to various parts for trouble shooting purposes, but I don't know where to get it my self.
