Default distributor problem.

I picked up a summit brand hei distributor for a sbc/bbc at the scratch and dent sale on the 14 and went to install it today and the shaft into the motor is different it has a smaller gear length wise on it and the shaft has extra grooves and it will not seal to the gasket on the intake manifold. What is this distributor for will it work on my 350... I can e mail pictures of both if it will help someone id them..

We'd need photos for this one...
Put your pictures on a site like Photobucket, and then link to them in your post on CF.

That won't work in either a sb or bb. It almost looks like an Olds. Is it for CW or CCW rotation?

I agree with Fordman. Looks like it would drop right into my 65 442, especially if it has an o-ring seal.
