Default Speedometer Cable question

I am trying to remove the speedometer cable from the back of the speedometer. I can only get one hand up under the dash. How can I push on the spring clip and pull the cable from the speedometer with one hand? My vett is a 1969.

You might have to try a little harder. I am able to put one hand in, to spring the clip, and keep the other hand as far back of the cable to pull. Another idea is to place a long handled screwdriver or pry bar to push on the clip and use the other hand to pull. Good luck.

Use a long handle screw driver.

Best advice is to remove the four bolts holding the driver's seat and get it out of the way. It will actually save you time in the end, and you will be so much more comfortable.

First thing I do B4 working under the dash is remove the seat. Makes it much easier.

I removed the seat and was then able to remove the speedometer cable by lying flat on my back and using both hands. I also found $.20 under the seat.
