Trany options
Just found out that my transmision is an old 64 M-20 wide ratio. As I am putting a big block in my car and this trans was made for a 327 is it possible to upgrade with heavy duty parts? Need some help and suggestions.

Going to a 5spd shouldn't be too big a deal. There is some fabrication required to the tranny mount (some people have just welded or bolted a steel plate to the old mount & with slots in the new plate, bolted the tranny to the new plate) . I'm not sure if the mount for the 5spd is forward or back from the old mount. I'm in the process right now of mounting a Tremec TKO 5spd into my 74. I cut the old welded in crossmember out of the car, and will be positioning a new crossmember in for the new tranny. The hole where the shifter comes up thru the floor will also need to be opened up on the right side, but with a spacer on the shifter, it'll come up thru the stock location. The Tremec TKo is one of the strongest O/D trans you can put into your car with a 525 ft. lbs. rating. :cheers:

You could get the M-22 rock crusher 4 spd. See that the guy who suggested a 5 spd. deleted it. W/ a BB there is less need for a 5 spd. depending on the setup.
