Default Hyd. Roller Upgrade?

Is it a good Idea to Just upgrade to roller assy's and synthetic Oil, rather than risk premature engine component failure due to Misrepresented performance engine oils and flat tappet cams?

I agree, the only drawback is the expense.
Ive been wondering the past few years why anyone thats already building up a fresh engine would risk it with a Flat tappet camshaft?

IMO, for a street driven machine that is not all petted over like a full out race car, you should not use those toggle type lifters, as there are reports they can/will come loose and wipe the cam and 1/2 the engine in a few cases.....

you MAY be able to have the block machined to use the dawg bone type retainers and locating spring with factory rollers/pushrods.....

IMO, factory later style only....there is a reason NO factory I know, ever let those toggle type lifter pairs out on the production line...

...but machining an older block is probably not cost affective....back in the day, bar type rollers gave out a lot and destroyed a lot of engines but the rollers i have installed in the last 15 years are still running.....comp cams, crower, lunati....

I'm no expert, but went with a later block for the same reason.

Funny thing though. I rebuilt the old vette engine (new heads, cam, etc., etc.) and put it in my '58 pickup. I tell people it's out of my vette and most are impressed - ooooh, a vette engine in the pickup. But when I say that the vette has a suburban motor, they act like I'm retarded.
