Default How do I transfer door panel hardware?

Im just about to replace my crusty worn out deluxe door panels. I was going to order some deluxe ones, when another thread got me thinking about the blank ones like these:

All my hardware is in good condition, but what I dont know is:

1) How do you get the old metal trims off without bending them
2) Is the lower carpet trim just stuck to the surface of the blank panels above (and with what to hold it there)? I notice on the blank panels that there is no indentation for the carpet and trim?

The lock plate is attached by swedging some cast-in pins on the back-side of the panel. You will have to cut/grind those down to remove the lock plate. To reinstall it, you will have to drill/tap the remaining shank of those pins for some very small screws or use a 'dollop' of JB Weld epoxy on the shank of those pins (once installed in the panel) to create new 'heads' that will retain the plate. Either method will work; I chose the epoxy route.

The trim strips are attached by bending over some sharp prongs at the rear of the panel. When you transfer those strips, it is critical that the holes for those prongs are in exactly the same [relative] locations as they were on the original panel. So, you need to keep your old panel to get good measurements. Yes, you can straighten those pins and then just try to place the trim strips in location...but it won't be lined up very well.

I have not had to swap-over any deluxe carpet segments to know how those are retained. Others can help you on that one.

The carpet is held on by the chome piece on top, andI pretty sure held to the bottom by a few screws. No indentation in panel for carpet.
