I don't know what the consensus is but i do know side pipes have burned lots and lots of legs. Their also pretty expensive. I would spend my $$$ on other parts. Unless u really have to have them for the looks.

I dont know what breather setup you have but in the past there have been issues with the RPM manifolds and Qjets not having enough clearance for the hood to close as the RPM makes the carb sit a little higher. You may have to change to a drop type breather, there are a couple of threads on that here too!
