Default Jeg's vs Summit

Is it just me or has Jeg's customer service gone down the drain? I ordered about $200 worth of various accessories and paid with paypal. About 4 hours after the order I get an email saying that paypal blocked the purchase. I called, paypal said it wasn't blocked so I emailed Jeg's back. I waited 24 hours and no reply. Finally I sent an email telling them to cancel my order and they sent one back 4 minutes later saying it was canceled.

How many people here use Summit? Have you had good or bad experiences with them?

Thanks,
Michal

I use Summit probably 2 or 3 to 1 over Jegs, but have never had a problem with Jegs. I just find Summit delivers quicker...guess I must live closer to their distribution center. Both have been excellent in service in my experience.

Always had good luck with both. Just don't ask for a TECH & ask them a question about something they sell. Boy talk about lack of product knowledge or mechanical apptitude

I too have never had a problem dealing with both, but I go with Summit 95% of the time because they have better prices and fastest shipping, next day since I'm in Oakland, Ca and their in Nevada. Another plus is the fact that they ship with UPS and they UPS guy always shows up at around 12. Jegs does have some good prices on certain things though.

Summit. They deliver fast, have coupon codes every once in a while, and take returns back without a hassle.

I have ordered from Jegs one time, and didn't have any problems.

I used both. Jegs is faster than Summit. I am still waiting for last order from Summit ( two months later). They charged my card and then stated they delivered. No proof of delivery. No parts. Never again with Summit for me.

I've had good experiences with both but I usually use Summit because their search engine website is excellent, IMO. Make narrowing down what you're looking for a lot easier. Are you listening, Jeg's?

I agree with the rest. Summit is the way to go in my book. Like mentioned, the pricing, shipping, and customer service are awesome. I just ordered a set of cragar lug nuts for the car today from summit infact. I personally find jegs website harder to navigate which isn't as inviting for me, but I have had friends order from jegs with no problems either. I guess it is like pepsi vs. coke. Haha in my case it is pepsi, and summit

EDIT - The order I placed this afternoon, the package was to be shipped standard UPS ground with an estimation to arrive either monday or tuesday which is perfectly fine. I just decided to check anyway and it looks like they decided to ship it Fedex so now ill get it saturday. Even better Summit for the win once again. Looks like the car will be done this weekend instead of next.

Hey guys, how is everyone doing? I work for Summit and happened to catch Marz's posting. Marz, if you want to give me any of your info here (customer # or order #) I can look up the order you are talking about and let you know what is going on. Or, if you prefer not to do that I can give you the name of a customer service rep to call and I'll let him know what's up. I'm sure we can help you out one way or another. Let me know!

I used to agree with you. Then by luck, I found a good one. Next time you have a questions, call technical Specialist Norm at extension 6652. I have gotten some really great advice from him. After our discussions, I just let him place the order...Done.

Norm @ X-665, noted, thanks.
Dont get me wrong I have been ordering from Summit for the past 6 tears with awesome results!! But a good tech or sales rep is hard to find anywhere now a days. When I ordered my Bilsteins they offered 2 different part #s for the Corvette Bilstien sports (still do). Same exact part number but one had a 1 at the end. Same car, same everything. The tech said there was no difference. I asked then why is the dash 1 $7 more? He had no idea. Is the new dash one number changed or improved or?? He said nope same exact shock. Bilstein must issue new part numbers when they have a price increase. HA! Whatever I ordered the dash - 1's.
