Dunno? maybe cause thats what in it? one less thing to have to modify? Heck why not...
No really, I haven't though about it, what will mate up with it and go in the car without a space mission. Any sugg.
It's not like the LS motor is a "drop in" so why not while you're at it swap in a 4L60E. If this is going to be a "driver" it will be A LOT more enjoyable with an overdrive trans.
Good luck on your project. We'll look foward to update pictures.

I am pretty sure the 4L60E is what 73LS1 has in his.

Very nice project! Is the paint as good as it looks in the pics? I had those same wheels on my '76 when I bought it. First thing I did was replace the wheels, lol.

Funny you asked, My wife commented how good the paint looks in the picture.
Nope, its real rough a 50 footer as they say I believe. The wheels have got to go..............soon. They look like they belong on a 39 buick.

I was hoping you were going to say that. They are terrible. As for a driver yes the overdrive is a real nice plus. The turbo 400 is an old school trans. Takes to much HP to drive it and no overdrive.
