Found a low miles 95 LT1 camaro engine. Thinking abouy replacing my weak 81 motor with it. I would use the motors FI system & computer. Looking at painless engine harness. $1500 for the motor, $350 for the harness. What other expenses, or problems, am I looking at.
Do the swap, It will give your C3 new life. They're alot of knowledgeable motor heads on this forum to ask questions. I have a new web page and I will soon be dropping my old web page. If you use a Camaro LT1, it will never fit without changing the accessory bracket over to a Corvette designed. It will be an easier use a '93 tru '95 LT1 with OBD-1 PCM. '96- '97 use OBD-11 PCM which is a bit more complicated when removing smog equipment. That’s a fair price for that LT1. http://www.vettworksonline.com

You ought to look at getting a 6 speed or a 4L60e at the same time. You didn't say if your car was a standard or an auto. Doing the whole switch would probably be easier than having to change out your flexiplate or flywheel so your 4-speed or TH350 would bolt up. If you get the ECM for the Camaro, it ought to have the electronics to control the overdrive 4L60e.
Looked at vettedan's webpage, outstanding! My 81 is an auto. The Z28 LTI comes with the original auto tranny, however belhousing is cracked on it, don't know the repair possibility or $ estimate to fix it.
