Took my car for a spin to the body shop. Couldn't get the key to turn when I went to leave and had to call a roll-back!
Good thing for Haggerty Insurance!
I need help/advice on how to get the lock out without damaging the ignition switch. It seems a tumbler has frozen and will not allow it to turn. The release pin hole does not line-up. (photo below)
Also, where would be the cheapest place to purchase? THANKS!
If you want aftermarket, they are only about $25.00, But if you want original try Paragon Vintage dept. or Doc. Rebuild, but probably alot more money. or maybe someone on the forum has one. Good luck.
Steering wheel doesn't lock on a 68.....ignition switch is in the dash
Take the switch to a locksmith, he should be able to get the lock out
I had the same thing happen with my 68 - I used an opened-out paper clip thru the holes - took a bit of faffing around for 10 minutes or so but came out in the end - the 68 lock assy is the same as other GM items and should be cheap.
