Default Exhaust question (with video)

Hey, I'm wanting to upgrade my exhaust and want it to sound kind of like the one in the video. I read it has 2.5" pipes, a H-pipe and Flowmaster 40s. Would it have that "Corvette sound" if it had a X-pipe instead? Thanks in advance.

I don't really think it is possible to get the same sound out of our corvettes like these old full body muscle cars. My reasoning is that the mufflers are toward the middle of the car on most old cars and have a few feet of tail pipe. The corvettes as you know have only about 8" of tail pipe if that. The corvette has a unique sound all its own.

In that video you can hear the resonance from the tailpipes. Sort of like what you hear if you pat your hand on the end of a vacuum cleaner hose. I have read on more than one occasion that Flowmaster mufflers are intended to be used with longer tailpipes than we have on our Vettes. Maybe you should check out Magnaflow or Pypes systems that are designed for the C3. I have a Magnaflow system on my car that sounds great but the videos that I have don't really represent what it would sound like on a 350. The LS1 has a different firing order so the sound won't be the same. If you want to hear a Magnaflow system on a big block check out the 16841 system on the Magnaflow website.

Actually, the sound sequence is really the same. With an LS firing order of 18726543, the exhaust pulses are LRLRRLRL where L is from the left pipe and R is right.

If you look at the classical firing order of 18436572, the firing pulses are
LRRLRLLR. But, if you start the sequence 72... and continuing to 184365..., the pulse train is really the same - LRLRRLRL!
