I need help setting up my 1978 L82 QJ eletric choke I am putting on.
1. Do you bypass the dirvorce-choke system?
2. Where is the best place to wire in?
I am a picture kinda person.
Thanks Dave
Sending you a picture of my installation.
As you can se the exhaust outtake in the manifoil is blocked off, think its an Ecklers blockoff for EGR. The vacuum nipple in the back of the carburetor is also blocked. Found no reason to block the choke house, but could be wrong here, but car starts and idle o.k.
Hooked up to the white wire on the wiper motor. Seems to work o.k.
aremar2 thanks for the pic and the advice. I have port blocked off and will try the white wire on wiper motor. I notice on the firewall there is a bracket with vacuum lines behind bracket. I think a canaster of some sort goes there because I see it on other 1978 L82's in the chilton manual they have pictures of it that shows a linkage to the carburator. Do you know what this canaster is called? and what it does?
Thanks

It´s the canister for fuel vapour. Emmision thing, not to let fuel vapour from your bowl escape to air. By the way, as I remember the exhaust nipple on the choke hose has to be blocked, it sucks air.
