I have a 1969 corvette and the turn signals don't work. The emergency flashers work ok and the fuse is good. Is it safe to assume the turn signal switch is bad? I don't want to pull the steering wheel, etc just to find out it's something else. Am I missing anything?
The turn signals use a different flasher module than the hazard warning switch. The module for the turn signals is mounted behind the passenger-side dash panel. You don't have to remove the panel, just reach under it on near the right edge. It is pushed into a retaining clip mounted to the back of the panel. You can swap the two modules to see if the module is bad. I'd bet that it is.
