When I went to put my carb. on my intake, I found that it covers the only hole in the intake to use for air to the brake booster. Can I use the air from the big fitting on the base of the carb. for the booster? Thanks Ray :chevy
I'm hoping that Edelbrock will make the Air Gap manifolds for the quadrajet. They make the Performer and RPM for Q-jet, why not Air Gaps? That way I wouldn't need a spacer or have to switch to a different carb.

I put a one inch spacer under the carb so the fitting would clear & I could retain the factory steel tube to attach the booster hose. I used the carb base vacuum port for the PCV valve.

How about a Performer Air-Gap (non-EGR) #2601?

I didn't realize they were making it so the Q-jet would fit without an adapter.
Thanks for all the response. I didn't think about the PCV valve. Where would I connect it to. Any ideas? I'll check with Jegs about the fitting Part# 350-8096, thanks Ray.
I think this "Air Gap" thing is so funny. People are looking at them like they are something new. Original Buick, Pontiac, Chrysler, International, and some Fords all had the same basic design from the factory. It was a two part thing where you had a valley cover that buttoned up the lifter valley, then the manifold just went over that. It looked just like an air gap when you were done, but it was usually iron and not aluminum. Look at an edelbrock intake for a Pontiac 400 and you'll see what I mean.
The Air Gap is a sweet manifold, I just think it's funny that they're making it out like it's new technology.
Ram82fire is right. If you are running a Holley (Avenger) or other the large fitting is manifold vacuum and that is what the brake booster needs. Strange the Air Gap did not provide a fitting hole for manifold vacuum?
