Default exhaust questions

I will be having an exhaust installed in a 79 corvette this week. I would like to insure that I can install a spare tire at a later date. Does anyone have dimensions of a spare tire tub? I would like to provide to the muffler shop to insure I can fit the tub in once I find one?

Also is there anything I should ask for or request when I have this done?

I was thinking of requesting a tap incase I ever wanted to install a o2 sensor.

I have a 3" outlet on the hooker headers and 2.5" Magnaflow mufflers.

Have people run 3" through the cross member and should I ask for this?
Any clearance issues

I found a local shop that does a lot of custom work, they seam to know what they are doing, I just want to make sure I ask them the right questions.

It has a 350 that is supposes to make 400hp in it

Thanks
Chris

Have you thought about a X-pipe, or H-pipe? You might also want to check out AIRTIME's post of his 3in. exhaust to see how it'll fit:

3" pipes on a 400 HP sbc is overkill. Save your money and put it toward the x/h pipe or something else on your car.

forgot to mention that 3in. pipes are for cars with 600+ HP, but if that's what you want, go for it. I'm running 3in. pipes on my Z28 and I don't have 600HP, but I am planning on building an engine later on that will be at around that power range. Good luck.

2 1/2 inch pipes will fit easier and are big enough for what you have. I run a 2 1/2 inch setup on a 500 HP SB motor.
