Borgeson steering box installed, leaking from servo?
Anyone out there that has installed a Borgeson steering box run into an issue where its leaking from where the aluminum servo meets the cast iron housing. I have triple checked and its not my hose fittings leaking. They are dry as a bone.
I am talking about the part where the the hoses are connected to the steering box (the aluminum servo).
Its not leaking allot. When I first started it I had a few drips on the frame. Now the box seems to get damp only. I don't have the body on so I can really look at it but I cant stress the box by driving it.
I know its probably a bad o ring or crud on the mating surfaces. Just wondering if anyone else had an initial leak.
I sent an email to Borgeson asking if they could send me an O ring or seal to try first before having to take the whole damn thing out again but they wanna see the box if it keeps leaking. Shipping will be a killer on this thing.
I also had a problem getting the connection to stop leaking.I didn't have the brass sleeve seated in the box.Had to tap it in until it stopped leaking.Borgeson should have used an O ring instead of those brass sleeves. It was well worth the effort car drives great with the new box!!
Had a heck of a time with those brass sleeves!! No leaks where you describe, send them a PM there ID is Borgeson .I see them on the forum from time to time.Your gonna love the steering feel when its all done.Alohas
