Default 78 alternator installation

I am in the process of building a 78 from the ground up and am almost complete. The problem I am having is with the wiring on the alternator. I know that the 2 wires with the plug obviously goes in it but there is also a battery line and what apears to be 2 grounds. The problem is there is only one spot to attach a wire on the back. Does anyone know where the grounds go (maybe into one of the holes on the alt.?) Thanks.

The "second ground" may be for the water temp sending unit. It is in the same harness. The ground has a round ring at the end that attaches to the alternator.

A correct 78 alternator would have a 5/16" threaded hole on the motor side of the rear of the case. Normally a bracket is attached that some vacuum hoses go through. Ground goes there.
As mentioned, the other "ground" wire may be the temp sender wire. Is it green?

there is a green temp sending wire but there is also 2 black grounds, one looks like it comes from the cruise control unit but I am not sure the other jsut comes from the same wiring harness as the battery line. There isa hole that I can thread a bolt into on the motor side so I guess the 2 grounds will go there?

Has anyone found an adapter for a electronic speedo to a mechanical one, I swapped out my TH350 for a 700r4 and cant seem to find one?

Default 700r4

My 700R4 has mechanical speedo gears in it, which connect up directly with my speedo. I did have to do a little work to also get in the VSS for my TPI. I purchased my 700R4 from Bowtieoverdrives and I would start there. You can have a tranny that will directly run your mechanical speedo.
