Default CE Block Identification

I just picked up a 72 coupe and am trying to determine what the motor is.

The casting numbers (3959512) says it's a 327.

Although as I read further it says those casting numbers were also used on "CE" blocks.

CE blocks were Warranty replacments or over the counter replacements.

My engine I.D. numbers are: CE6P21242

I did a fair amount of hunting and thats all I could find on line.

Heads are double hump angle plugs- have not pulled the covers yet.

Any info greatly appreciated,

Denis

Angle plugs came across the Parts counter not the Show room. Look at the top of the block at the firewall and you will get the Casting Number and the date Code it was cast.

The CE numbers can't really be deciphered into anything useful. Best disassemble the engine if you want to know what it is.
