Need for speed
The throttle bodies can be bored out, the intake extrude honed, K&N air filters, up the compression, alum heads and many other mods done to get more power to the ground using the stock block.
Now, think about what will happen if you put 400Hp in front of a stock tranny in the '82. Next in line is the diff so don't expect miracles out of that 28 yr old car.
My advice:
Rebuild the front suspension and rear suspension with components that are matched to that amount of power; visit VB&P for instance. Get that stock engine on the road with the ability to pull 1.0G's before adding any power.
