Those ttop weather strips fail, and the rain keeps going in. I bought a real nice looking 71 one time. The Astro ventilation worked well! Too well as a matter of fact
Both pillar mounts were toast, and with the kick panels removed you could the the ground moving.
Down the road it went!
That car of yours has serious issues with the silent enemy! I wouldn't be dumping a ton into this car. You would be better off getting a more solid foundation.

Update
I removed the #2 bolts, put in as large of metal plates as I could fit in an attempt to help the rust holes and replaced the bolts. The end product probally helps some but definately not great. Some pics...
