Default Trani oil cooler mounting location

Along with my newly built engine project, I also have a newly rebuilt transmission and I want to add a oil cooler to the trani...

Iam running a 76 vintage SBC with mild/med performance added and a 350 trani and I have a new Dewitts Rad

What size cooler do I need, they come in GVW's ratings

And I assume the most common mounting location is on the Rad,,,I just want a place where I get good air flow thru it.

The concern I have about mounting it in front of the Rad is that I pull hot air from the trani cooler thru the Rad thus defeating the cooling ability of the Rad, or maybe the air flow thru both does not hinder the radiator's ability to cool, Iam wondering about this..

I have been advised that the "Rad" style of cooler is most efficient,,they call it a "stacked cooler" I think.

So,,,,what set up do ya guys have on ur cars and where are they mounted......and of course what ever good wizdom you have,,,,
