Any trick to getting to these retainer nuts @ the corners of the '76 Front Bumper ???
Damn near thrown my whole tool box at them and still can't get on them fully to remove them !!!!!

I seem to remember having to use a small dremel/die grinder with a burr bit to grind off the last of my stubborn 77 rusted out corner retainer nuts off , perhaps that might help you as well.

I feel your pain. I think I used a small skinny nose vise grip plier to hold the nut. Also applied lots of PB Blaster. Good luck

Probably not the answer you want to hear, but I've heard of guys cutting access holes through the inner fenders to get at those fasteners.

I dread tackling this job.

Just removed my bumper cover this weekend. Couldn't get to them either. I cut access holes in the old rubber bumper with my dremel and ground the heads off the bolts. Worked great.

Now if your trying to save the bumper.....

Bumper was trashed and dry rotted already, actually all that was left under the Bra was the license plate holder & front 2 center Pods ! I cut them out with a die grinder and ordered new retainers......now to figure out how I'm gonna get the new ones Tight when they get here ???

Bumper retainers finally off >

Only part of bumper that was still on car under bra cover when I started

I had the side marker lights out and could (but still just barely) get a socket on those nuts.. I used a 1/4 driver with 8 inch extension. I had the driver outside the the marker light hole. Hope that makes sense
