Default Please identify this "thing" in my brake light circuit???

This is wired just behind my brake light switch on the brake pedal. It obviously has been added. Looks like a resistor??

What is it? Should I remove it?

Thanks,
Rob

Not too long ago there was a thread on this. It is a capacitor to suppress the arc generated when the brake lights are operated. It caused a "pop" in the radio whiout this capacitor. Mostly dealer installed.

Looks original, just re-attached. The original plugged into the switch terminals.

Nope. The original was installed using the blue plastic clip connectors.

It looks like you have the ABS option. Very rare option that year!
