Hello all, let me tell you a bit about my car before I ask your advice...
it is a '78 Pace Car with a ZZ4 350 and 2004r tranny...it's got the original gearing (3.08, right?) and I'd like some more torque (after all I don't really need to keep driving it at 120). Anybody out there with a similar setup?...any suggestions?
I have had 3.55, 3.70 and 4.11 gears in my car with varous transmissions. I always felt the 4.11 was just to much gear for a street driven car. The 3.70 with the 1st gear of the 200 will provide plenty of acceleration. Also the 4.10 gear will need a different carrier or a special 4 series gear to fit on a 3 series carrier.
Well...I got the 3.70 in, but my mechanic says he's having problems finding the info to adjust the speedo for the new gears. I'm running standard tires...any help out there?
