Willcox New Tach Board Installation Video 1975-1977
Hey Guys.. here is another one for you to laugh with me on...
This is the new Tachometer board installation video we just did. We kind of tossed this one together the past two days trying to help a customer understand the zero set. After six attempts.. we just decided we would let the video fly and shoot from the hip. Seems to have turned out ok, but I did find a few corrections that I'll make the next time around.
I'll try to do a better one when time permits.

In the zero set procedure you say we need to apply a 12V signal and ground and have no input voltage. Can this be done in the car by having the connector on the back of the tach, putting the ignition in the run position, and having the brown tach wire disconnected from the distributor? I am asking for those of us who don't have access to a power supply like yours. We would most likely need to do this in our cars by ourselves.
Or could we wire up a 12V battery directly to it? Maybee we would need something to regulate the current if it would be too high?

To do this you can run 12 volts from any power source under the hood and then just make a ground to the engine. Doing it at the engine will allow you to also run a signal wire from the "tach" connection at the distributor and check the tach before installing it too!
