It's first year out, it helped JJ to win his second cup championship against purpose built race block engines from Toyota and Dodge.
OT: I really used to hate redneck roundyrounding (NASCAR) until I realized how much of the technology we use today was developed there. Pretty much anybody with cash can build an 800hp engine. The thing that makes me scratch my head is that they can run for 500 miles WFO at 8 - 9 grand and live. And that's after how many miles of practice at nearly the same levels.
Your best chance of a 700hp N/A engine will be with an LS based powerplant, IMHO.
