434 CI $12K street engine @ 619 HP http://www.steveschmidtracing.com/en...reet-dyno.html

423 CI $13K drag engine @ 700 HP http://www.steveschmidtracing.com/en...ine-700hp.html

434 CI $16K drag engine @ 797 HP http://www.steveschmidtracing.com/en...8deg-dyno.html

All marginably streetable.......DART Little M blocks.....but still......and there's a few more there with no dyno sheets posted......but they're over $20K.

Have seen a 500cu SBC make 1100hp on meth, all alloy engine was for a sprint boat, this was few years ago, told it was $100k plus build at the time

Bill Mitchell has some cool small blocks. NOT 700 hp but they run on the street and only cost $11k compared to what I am seeing numbers wise above.

454 small block 600hp (most likely more HP but they promise at least 600hp.

Kinda. They've been running SB2.2 blocks since '98 and they went to the R07 in '08. While the SB2.2 is loosely based on the old smallblock, they're nowhere near the same engine.

The new one is out (R07) and it's a complete departure from the old stuff.

It's first year out, it helped JJ to win his second cup championship against purpose built race block engines from Toyota and Dodge.

OT: I really used to hate redneck roundyrounding (NASCAR) until I realized how much of the technology we use today was developed there. Pretty much anybody with cash can build an 800hp engine. The thing that makes me scratch my head is that they can run for 500 miles WFO at 8 - 9 grand and live. And that's after how many miles of practice at nearly the same levels.

Your best chance of a 700hp N/A engine will be with an LS based powerplant, IMHO.
