fuse box question
then it goes through the ignition switch, early on the dash, later on top of the steering column.....and is divided off there to ~3 basic circuits on most cars....
PINK is ignition, which is hot in start/cranking mode and RUN, but dead in ACCESSORY, or counter clockwise one click from OFF position...where you can remove the key....
BROWN is the main accessory circuit, it maybe feeding other stuffs, but mainly the fuse block, where it's broken down to radio, wipers (typically yellow) and some other accessories...
then you get the purple wiring, goes to the starter solenoid to engage it, that runs through the shifter down at the tranny or up on the console to make sure the lever is in a permissable position to allow cranking, or the clutch pedal to make sure it's pressed to the floor to allow cranking....safety maven stuff from the .gov.....
I have a vague recollection that accessory function was divided down further on some later cars....but don't push my mammory on that one....
