502 Torque converter
Do I need to replace my stock converter in a th400 (both were rebuilt) for a stock zz502. I am looking for drivability (street) not strip performance. If not, what is recommended. With normal tires I will have more power than I will be able to apply to the ground.

In a word...."Yes". You need to buy a good brand name torque converter (B&M, etc.) and give them the specs for your engine (HP and torque curves...or best estimate of that info). The torque converter needs to be selected via engine torque, max. rpm expected and the kind of driving that you will be doing. A 'performance' converter is much different from a 'street use' converter. Call their techs first, and have them help you choose the right converter.

I don't agree. Since stall speed is based on torque output, the same converter will have a higher stall speed with a bigger engine. While it's true that the combination might not be optimal from an all out performance aspect I don't think you would notice the difference while street driving. IMO.
