Prob not. I run a 383 with a 239/245 cam AFR 195 heads with 13lbs of boost from a Procharger. But don't let the blower throw you. Motorhead is NA and he went with smaller HSABs than I did.

her is the plan... changing the secondaries and primaries to 2 jet sizes up,,,, I want to buy 2 sizes of new air bleeds, take it down to the dyno and change the air bleeds there and run it out,,,

what do you think of this idea guys?

and how many sizes down on the bleeds do you recommend?

I'd start with some 26s (which will prob be too small) and drill them out larger, slowly. You can always drill bigger.

If you don't want to waste time drilling at the dyno I'd go with some 28s or maybe 30s, if you're trying to hit it dead on. But who knows, those could be way too small for your car. But if I were tuning in the dark that's what I would try first, having seen how my carb and Motorheads carb responded.

How big are your stock ones?

VENTURI SIZE:
1.400

1.425

IDLE AIR BLEEDS:
.070

.070

H.S. AIR BLEEDS:
.039

.039

They are very proud of these little pieces of brass. You might start out with .035 If you figure out the area of a circle with a diameter of .039 and then .035 the % of change is what you are looking for.

Get an online math calculator for areas of a circle. That is why I got away from holley jets and went to Maxi jets now from Comp Cams.

I will be buying the summit bleed case... thx.... so no drilling for me

BG said "I would never trust those A/F readings... go just by spark plug color"
HMMmmmmmm.....

http://www.freeonlinecalculator.net/...ane/circle.php

The radius is 1/2 of Diameter. The area of .039 = .00119 sq inches

The area of .035 = .00096 I don't know what your numbers are, but you get an "A" for answer of 80%

So even a .035 might be a radical change

Do you remember that I was frustrated with my own carb and had a local national known race carb shop set mine up and ran it on a 400 some ci circle track test mule motor? The cost of shipping your carb and have it come back very close to perfect might be less than what you are trying. All W.A.G.'s cost money on the dyno time.

At my work I only do webers and injection on the dyno

You are in the heartland of where hot rodding started. I would get ahold of some of those Southern Cal. shops and talk to them about prices.

I paid $360, But a bunch of it was parts. like new rear throttle blades that I had drilled holes in and the NASCAR type road racing anti foam needles and seats/ different floats......
