Default cam break-in, EOS, BRAD PENN

Need advise as this weekend I will start up my 72 350 with a new lunati 60103 cam and z28 valve springs. My question is regarding the amount of GM EOS that I should put in. I have the crank case filled with Brad Penn 30 wt break-in oil and have put a half a pint of EOS on the rockers and valvel springs. Should I add more EOS or is this just a waist of EOS. After break-in I plan to change oil and put in Brad Penn 10w 30. Also should I add the EOS to the 10w 30.
Thanks

BP oil is sufficient enough.

You should have carb primed and filled with gas (fill through float bowl vent tube, check for accelerator pump action), and the timing set to have engine ready to fire on the first twist of the key.

More cams are destroyed on initial start-up by not having everything ready to go, the worst thing you can do is crank and CRANK AND CRANK! away trying to get motor started with a new cam installed. Have a cooling fan blowing on the radiator and a timing light ready to properly set ignition timing then run motor for at least 10 minutes at 2000+RPM for proper break-in of the cam/lifters.

If you still have points type distributor, coil fires on point opening, set timing mark about 10 degrees BTDC and set the points to just opening, if you have a Pertronix or other style breakerless ignition, put power to the distributor and watch for electrical arc from coil wire placed about 1/4" away from engine block.

I also have a Stant cooling system pressure tester, I use to check for leaks ahead of time. You also need to be careful about filling the cooling system, I drill a 1/4" hole through the thermostat housing and fill system through the intake manifold until it is topped off, make sure radiator is full and fill top radiator hose the "splash it home" onto the motor. I have seen a few Vette motors melted down by improper cooling system fills.
