Need to remove differential mounting crossmember, have bolts out, what keeps it in? is it an interference fit? I beat on it with a deadblow, afraid to really wail on it.
It is an Eliminator Daytona (25'). My Avatar picture is the motor, 1071 supercharged & intercooled 540" Gen 4. Dart heads. It made 1030hp @ 6400, 955 ft#tq. A real horse.
Boats are the ultimate, here in AZ anyway, No speed limits, lake racing is legal. The thing will run 123-124. And........Bikini's
if you go to my build thread you can see the side of the boat as well
(Z068 update pics added)
Gotta love Eliminators.... very sweet ride.
I bought the old eliminator "showboat" when the Shawno, WI site closed down...oh...about 20 years ago. It had made the rounds at Havasu. Back then a 21' eliminator with a massaged V8 evinrude on the back ran 104mph, not much could catch it..other than another eliminator
Gary,
Oooooh yeah the Havasu days...................I used to go a bunch, back before kids. Its now strickly rated xxx. You may remember a piece of water up the river on the Arizona side called speed alley. It was a mile of 4' deep water sheltered from the river by reeds. We had some real speed wars up there, and still do ocasionally. Your 21 was it a Daytona?
I had a 21 Daytona jet then, with the same engine I have in my 25'
it ran 106-108. I think that shallow water acted much like ground effect does on an airplane.
I never made it to Havasu, but the boat was a regular back then. It was a 21' Eliminator red, orange, yellow, white, with a V8 Evinrude painted to match, hard to miss, they brought it to every Eliminator event.
I brought it to Lake of the Ozarks and found it was way to small. Since then I've gone through 31-38 Scarabs, a 31' Chris cat with 525SCs, 109mph on gps, but now I'm an old guy in a cruiser.
Oh yeah, seems we have similar vette interests, 6.0 LQ9, Richmond 6 speed, and Vintage Air in my 68 convertible.
