Within the last two weeks both Amoco stations near me are gone.. One turned into a Marathon and the other closed. Another Amoco farther away said he was going to become a B/P. Amoco 93 was (is) the best fuel for my BB. I realize that B/P and Amoco merged but whose gas formulas are they using? There ar no B/P stations real close to me either. :cry :cry
Silver, my biggest regret about BP is their station up the street, who's owners I happen to like, has one hell of a problem with bad gas....water or some sort of crap in the fuel.....killed the injection on my car, can't prove it, but I had to clean the tank, replace pump, change filter 3x and put in a fresh set of injectors....about 3 years ago or so....
bought gas once there since then and trobles were just a fuel filter...
I been using Texaco on another street since then, don't dare do BP anymore, I even avoid them on the highway's....
when I first moved here BP was fine for over a year....then they dug up those tanks for that damn EPA crapola, now the fuel is bad...go figger...
The boys on Dream Car Garage (Speed Channel) just hyped up Sunoco's 94 octane for pre-emission years cars. We don't have Sunoco's down here (except at Morosso). It would take half a tank to get there, and the other half to get back!
They're one of the few (if any) around here which have 94 octane for my '70. Sophia doesn't like cheap low octane gas. Victor Smiley (my C4) on the other hand doesn't mind cheap beer, burp... er cheap gas I mean. :jester
There are no Sunoco stations around here. A few years ago we were in a caravan and stopped at a Sunoco when they first started selling 94. ALL of the Hi-performance cars that got the 94 actually run terrible and pinged badly. Maybe that station got things mixed up or? Like I say, there are no Sunoco here so I haven't tried it since. :U
I've always purchased Sunoco 360...untill they went away in Illinois years ago. Used Amoco since. Around here, Amoco just changed their signs and station colors outside, and went about business as usual!!!
