alternator wires

would someone tell me where each wire goes on the two wire terminal on the alternator mine was bubbaized with two wire female spades ?????

From: Crossville TN

One (red one) runs to the horn relay and links to battery voltage. The other (brown) runs to a fuse link, then on the the IGN terminal on the ignition switch.

7t1vette are we talking about the same wires ?? i'm speaking of the plug on top of alt

Oleyella,

Gm used two smaller diameter wires (16 gauge???) that were fitted inside a black thingy that fits into the slot on the alternator. They were coloured red and light brown. Unfortunately, Bubba paints from a different pallette.

At the alternator: the red wire connects to the terminal closest to the engine (terminal#2)
and the brown wire connects to the terminal closest to the fender (terminal #1).
