Sand blasting will destroy most non-frame areas and parts. You need to go the undercoat scraping, degreasing, washing, wire brushing and wire wheeling route, preferable with a pneumatic die grinder. I would suggest removing the driveline and suspension parts first and restoring/rebuilding them off the car. Certain parts can be final cleaned in a fine glass bead media cabinet, but not all. There is no quick and easy way to this, especially laying on your back with the car on jack stands. Have fun.....
But, if you're just trying to clean the grease and grime off of it so that you can paint it, go to a steam cleaner's instead. It's like using a steam pressure washer. Just show them where you DON'T want them to blast (sensitive wiring, electrical parts, anything you would rather clean yourself than take a chance on damaging), and let them 'have at it'. It will cost you somewhere around $200-300 to have the job done right. {You can probably get it done for less, if you want the job done WRONG.}
Ok ,yes you can ,i did it and its still holding up,i did have the motor and trans removed,all wheels off and jacked up.It was a long process and DIRTY,But it will work,i am proof of it.It is best to do a frame off but i had no room to do it and no place to do it at.It turned out really good and i was able to get almost every part of the frame.It has bee 15 years since i did it and it still is great looking no rust at all.But i donot drive in the rain or snow.Go ahead and do it and just take your time,it will work.I did remove all oil and grease,and when done blasting i took air hose and blew out andy sand residue.I am surprised that nobody has given you a better response.
