Have a 60k '73 with matching # engine but noticed that the forward part of the two heads appear to look different. The left head has what looks like an "M" design on the front vertical area, while the right head does not. Is this correct?
will do. if the "M' appears on the back side of the other head, does it mean the heads are at least matching? And if matching, is this correct for the standard L48?
Will have to wait a few days to check...car is in paint shop being touched up.
thanks
If you think about it, the front of the head on one side will be the back of the head on the other side. The heads can go on either side but one has to be turned around as compared to the other side.
The only way to truely know if they are the correct heads is to pull the valve covers and look at the casting numbers. Most of the heads for the 350's (and even some 305's) look the same from the out side.
