Default 71 coil wiring

The wiring diagram in my AIM for a 1971 vette shows that the black wire from the distributor connects to the pos side of coil and the 12v wires from starter and fuse panel connect to the neg side.

Is this a mistake?

Would it even matter though?

yes it would, 12v to + distributor to -

Yes, it's a mistake.
Yes, it matters.

Distributor wire goes to coil "-"
Power from starter and fusepanel goes to coil "+"
