Has this happened to anyone?
If someone holds the lockout pin UP while shifting out of reverse, the tranny will lock into reverse and some forward gear. The only fix is to climb under and manually push the rods back.
This doesn't happen if the lockout handle is left down, and it will click when moving the shift lever to the neutral position from reverse.
I've had this problem for years, but have learned about this quirk, but yesterday my mechanic got it stuck when it was in for inspection.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

somethings loose. check the bolts that attach the shifter to it's bracket. the lockout pin engages a dog in the shifter mechanism, and has nothing to do with gear selection.

Okay, to check the bracket, I guess I have to get at it from above?
