I'm looking for something to finish my fiberglass sidepipe covers with on my 71. I found these folks (ALSA) who make some great claims about their product. Has anyone had any experience with it?
Thanks www.alsacorp.com
Hi R71,
I followed the link that Shamby posted.
After reading through the posts the thing that stuck in my mind was that EVEN if you could get VERY good results, any TOUCH-UP is EXTREMELY difficult. I have paint on my 69 covers and even with VERY limited driving they need to be touched up often. The cover is so low that the front tires toss everything right back into the front part of the cover, and further back where the 'turn-out' is, at the rear.
Just my 2 cents!
Regards,
Alan

Touch up is my main concern too with this product. As a second choice
I was thinking Argent silver like the ralley wheels in base/clear coat.
Have you tried Eastwood. They have a stainless steel paint thats "The Bomb".
I have not tried Eastwood stainless steel but have used other Eastwood products like cast iron spray with satisfaction. I have used a Krylon chrome or stainless steel spray can around $3.00 that worked fairly well. The Krylon gold is much too bright to simulate cad plate.
