Assembling Heads - Lap Valves?
I was going to assemble my heads tomorrow at the shop at school. One quick questions: Is there any reason to, or not to, lap valves on a newly ground set of seats with new valves? If it can't hurt, I'll probably do it.

I always give a quick lap on the valves to check the contact area.
After you have the heads assembled, (not on the engine), you can pour a bit of paint thinner down each port, (intake & exhaust) and see if any seeps
through. No seeps, no leaks.

I did the thinner leak test on my Trick Flow heads out of the box and 6 outa 16 leaked..a light lap job and that was that :cheers:
