Default New pushrods

Hi,
For one of my street engines I've bought Brodix IK180 heads (with guideplates), so I will buy new pushrods, the pushrods will be in moly hardened steel. But what lenght must I buy?

SB 350
Brodix IK 180
1,6 rocker arms
Comp Cams
Comp cams Roller lifter (853-16)

I have IK180s and I think I got these (2 years ago):
EDL-9630

I did make sure to measure and see if they were causing my roller rockers to touch valve tips correctly. They were right on.

but I dont have roller cam
adjustable pushrods?

You really need to mock up the valve train and see what size you need. There is no one size that fits all. Mock it up and get a pushrod length checker and see what you need. I have a set of .150 longer than stock pushrods on mine but this was after careful measuring.

Thanks Gordonm,
I've just bought Comp Cams adjustable pushrod, I hope this will help me finding the lenght I need.

From: Las Vegas - Just stop perpetuating myths please.
Default Try doing it the easy way - use a Moroso or ProForm p-rod checker.

If your engine is still in the car u will find that adj p-rod very difficult to use. BTW did u try a forum search on p-rods. This subject gets discussed here on a regular basis.
Anyways the cheap $15 p-rod checkers just measures the distance between a stock p-rod and either your valve tip or the p-rod to the rocker arm with a feeler gauge. U will need a longer p-rod if gap is on the p-rod side of rocker arm or a shorter p-rod if gap is on the valve tip side of rocker. Any gap less than 0.010" forget about it. U an't gonn'a race for big $$$ at Daytona are ya?
U will be fine within 0.010" and i buoght my Trick Flow p-rods from summit. And guess what? They were a little longer that the engraved number on the p-rod - as i measured with a long calibers. Not a big deal as long as the rocker tip stays centered on the vlv tip and away from the edge.

Hope this helps save a lot of effort and headaches. I tried that adj p-rod while engine in the car and gave up after 2 days.

Better luck to u,
