Headlight problems.

Has anyone ever had just your headlights not burning but all other lights are. I have a 78 and there are no fuses on the fuse box marked for headlights but the owners manual says there is a breaker on the switch its self. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Could be HL switch or connector, dimmer switch, fusible link , bulkhead connector, all 4 headlights or a ground.
Time to get your test light out !

My lighting system (1980) did that this past weekend, till I wiggled/flipped the dimmer switch, headlights suddenly came on. Time for some more maintenance.

Speed Direct has a replacement wiring harness that uses relays to control the headlights. This way the headlight switch only sees low amperage control voltage instead of the full headlight amps. This should also give you brighter lights too.

Just clean and re-set the power and ground lines associated with the headlamps. You can re-engineer them if you want...but if the wiring is in good order, it's unnecessary.
