I have a 1968 that has a frame off restore. The car seems to be sitting low on the right side (driver's side). I measured from the rear of the car from the frame to the ground and it is lower on that side by about a 1/4". The front also sits a bit lower on that side, but not as much.
Hi b-15,
I believe that the 'ride height' dimensions were given as AVERAGES in the AIM so....???
I'd think the way the front spring is in the tower and lower a-arm could affect the front height and the adjustment of the spring to trailing arm bolts might affect the rear height.... up 1/8th" on left and down 1/8th" on the right.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
Generally, the driver's side is referred to asthe left side--standard terminology is from where you sit in the car, not where you stand a look, because when looking from the back, left will be the opposite side as opposed to when you look from the front.
As you can see from the sarcasm-laced responses, the rest of us know full well about this problem and would be happy with only 1/4" difference from side to side.
You can fix it by buying a longer spring bolt and lower the rear of the right side (passengers) to match.
