An old co-worker gave me a summit brand linelock kit so I installed it yesterday. Had to make up some brake line but it wasnt too hard. I wired it on a led toggle switch. probably the easiest and most fun mod Ive done.
1st test: 1st and 2nd gear when I shift to 2nd the sidepipes blow smoke away.
2nd test: it was a little bigger burnout because I rode out 2nd gear off linelock for about 100ft and got a little sideways and i had to get off gas because I was running out of road. I have chunks of rubber over the back of vette, even on the decklid where gas cap is!
I wish i had video of that one.
Did these tests with my 275/60/15 but have a set of older 225/70/15 bfg on stock wheels for fooling around.
You had better not be talkin about me and my 67 440 Charger R/t or my 71 Plymouth 383 magnum:o
Nah, I'm talking about the guy with the 2bbl 318ci "grocery-getter" that's missing half its interior (due to theft/animal abuse/selling parts to get a fix). They tend to come out of the woodwork when I drive the 78 or my "restoration project" F-250.
That was awesome. The motor in that car is probably worth more then my whole corvette and daily driver s10 together.
L-82kid I used to mount junk tires and make long black marks like your picture. I always worried about a blow out and tearing up the fiber glass so I quit before I could make a good film
I came of age in the days of the muscle car. I love smokin' tires. You've probably seen this, Corvette Burnout Gone Bad. Not sure what the guy smoked but it wasn't the tires--clutch maybe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bM3So0U1BMQ

He wasn't born in the age of muscle cars. Think maybe what he was smoking was crack if he didn't realize that was clutch and not tires. He said "goodbye $600" Probably more like $4000 to put a clutch in that car. Shame someone that stupid has that nice of car.

Kevin,
I've been in & out of town a fair amount in recent weeks & not on the forum too much so I have to ask- is that the new motor you've been planning? It seems like you'd be about on schedule for it to be done. If so, what cam did you end up using?
