Kevin,
I've been in & out of town a fair amount in recent weeks & not on the forum too much so I have to ask- is that the new motor you've been planning? It seems like you'd be about on schedule for it to be done. If so, what cam did you end up using?
whats up les
this was done with my old motor. I ended up getting a b&m 144 mini blower for the new motor for a good price so I changed my whole build plans lol. I ended up selling my pro-topline heads and solid comp cam. i must be crazy
Ive been reading and researching these blowers and I want to do a little torque monster. I have the forged bottom end and 357ci. Just got the blower so in the next few weeks I'll start building it. I'm going with new 8.5 CR, 5-7psi of boost, 195cc AFR heads, cam better suited for the blower, and 850cfm mighty demon blower carb. My goal is to make close to if not break 400rwhp and 400'lbs. we'll see whats happens. lol

I have a good friend that attempted everything he could with 355 ci and a Weiand 144 ci. Even driven at max rpm the problem with them is the tiny 144 ci sweep volume. If you build a motor with good flowing heads and camming that gives high volumetric efficiency the little blower can only supply so much air. Even if you put on dual 850 carbs it wouldn't matter.
So no matter what you do the blower is limited to about right what it says on the box: 500 hp They are best used on a stockish type motor with 350 or less ci and lower rpm like sub 5000.

I figured 500hp was about the limit but If make that and have 500+'lbs of torque to match Ill be happy for awhile. Since Ill have nice heads, lower compression, and blower cam I figured I could swap to a bigger blower later on if i wanted more power. A 6-71 roots blower would be cool.
What kind of car did your buddy have the 144 blower on?
