All compounds other than organic usually have a "heat up" time where the don't grab well until they've been heated up. I don't know of any compounds that meet all the criteria. Unless Akebono starts making a ProACT pad for these cars you're going to have to deal with a certain amount of dust.
I use on all the cars I fix Ceramic pads, no problems so far and the guys love them no squealing and very low brake dust! Ron
Ron Rail: Which ceramic pads do you recommend? Just normal street driving here. I have newer VBP pads on my '79, but they are beginning to squeal. Are Ceramics silent?
Street racing??? If you actually need those big brakes to do significant work, forget the part about 'low dusting'. You just need to get pads with good stopping power and good fade resistance....and wash the wheels more often.
I fitted the EBC Red Stuff, which used to be the higher perf compound even higher than the green stuff. I found the red pads quite good. The produced little dust and stopped well. Now this was on my Audi S3 as my 'vette is fitted with Wilwoods from Corvette engineering and their pads which are fine.
