78 air conditioner question

Leaving the compressor is high, returning to the compressor is low. Orfice tube is where the pressure changes. If there is a port on your accumulator, that is low also. Have you converted to R134? If so your hoses will only fit one way. But, never say never!

When I had my AC serviced by a 1 man all-Vette shop, he told me the orfice tube was in upside down. I said I don't get it because my '85 shop manual (Pontiac) shows it going the way it was and he claimed Vettes are different. 
When I had it reapired again at a different shop he said the Vette guy put it in upside down. WTF???
