Well i am finally ready to change my auto to a manual 5 speed and would like to go with a hydraulic clutch setup. Which would be the best master and slave cylinder combination to go for and where can i buy the kit?
Thanks Neil.

The popular choice for the C3 is a late 80's GM truck master & slave. You will need a custom made hose to connect the two. The truck master is easily adapted to the C3, it just needs the rod shortened. GM used that same master & slave on tons of models and years so they are dirt cheap.

I have installed 2 of these. One that came with a Keisler kit thatI installed in a forum members car. It is an internal TO bearing mounted to the front ofthe transmission. They have their own master cylinder and mounting bracket. This system works well. The other one I used an LS1 TO beaing which mounts to the front of my T56 transmission. I used a Tilton master cylinder and made up my own lines. This system is very fast acting. Pedal pressure is a little more than the Keisler setup but nothing to bad for driving.

If you search the site for Hydaulic Clutch you should find a couple of articles I wrote on this very subject. I used three diffrent manufactures parts and they all had goods and bads. I didn't plan on it but I ended up doing a lot of Homework and Trial and Err and I hope that it was done for every one interested on this site.

Thanks to everone for the help and advise and i really like the idea of a remote master cylinder reservoir, especially with the tight spaces on the vette. I will do a search for a place to buy the GM truck master and slave cylinders. i was just concerned that with the pressure required with an 11" clutch I would need a more powerful hydraulic system. I will also do a search for Hydaulic Clutch articles on the forum.

Cheers Neil.
